My 'painting with paper' medium predominantly includes mulberry paper, authentic ephemera, glue and ink. Sometimes threads, bits of rusty metal and other items make their way onto the canvas. Since mid 2016, I have been exploring non-representational abstracts and continue to work in this way. I find abstract art to be far more challenging for me and I enjoy that challenge. In many ways, abstract art is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle without seeing the picture on the cover. It isn't until a piece is around 75% finished that I start to see it for what it is, or what it could become.
Images of my previous work with recognizable subjects, before the transition to abstract, are still included in this gallery. This is just a small sampling of my work. To view more of my artwork, I invite you to attend any of my exhibits listed below.
